Published on

It has been reported that 20 people have been killed as a result of flooding in KwaZulu-Natal, over recent days. Yesterday’s death toll of 2 people has been updated by eNCA to 20. Two people are still missing.
Meanwhile, the SANDF has been roped in to help, after heavy rain lashed the province and lead to devastating floods. Buildings have collapsed, roads have been swept away, houses are trapped beneath mudslides and emergency services have spent the night rescuing and evacuating people from their homes.
At the same time: The KZN Education Department says schools in flooded areas must remain closed to ensure the safety of learners and educators. The department has urged parents and principles to take initiative in keeping children safe while emergency officials respond to the flooding.
