Zurenah Smit – wife of murdered Stellenbosch wine-farmer, Stefan Smit – faces 9 charges in the Cape Town High Court

The widow of a Stellenbosch wine farmer is facing nine charges, including the murder of her husband and the falsification of his will in the Cape Town High Court.

Zurenah Smit, widow of Stefan Smit, who was shot dead on his farm Louisenhof in 2019, is also being charged with the forgery of Smit’s mother’s will, intimidation, robbery with aggravating circumstances and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

Smit appeared in the Stellenbosch Magistrate’s Court earlier today, along-side her two co-accused Derek Sait and Steven Damon.

The case was adjourned to 30 August.
