Wifi-enabled solar street lights to boost safety and education

Published on

Green Cape says its new, solar-powered wifi-enabled lamp-posts, will help boost safety in the Witsand-community in Atlantis.

Created through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Green Cape and Think Wi-Fi, the solar-lights will be installed in poorly-lit areas in the community… and will see up to 2,500 households have access to free wifi-internet.

Energy Programme Manager at GreenCape, Jack Radmore, says they hope to, in future, expand this service across the country.
