Published on

Western Cape table-grape farmers have recorded an impressive increase of 13-million cartons of fruit in their 2020/2021 harvest.

This, according to the provincial Department of Agriculture, which says that farmers this year harvested 73-million cartons of the fruit.

Spokesperson for MEC, Dr Ivan Meyer, Daniel Johnson says this is a marked increase from the more than 66-million cartons harvested in the 2019/2020 production-year.

Johnson says farmers are now busy packing their harvests, with most of the grapes destined for overseas markets.
