Western Cape police kept busy by criminals

Published on

An intelligence-driven operation by members of the Anti-Gang Unit on Thursday afternoon saw the arrest of a Namibian male for the possession of uncut diamonds.

The suspect was apprehended in the parking area of a shopping centre in Worcester.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, says police were acting on a tip-off.

Members of the Cape Town police’s Operation Restore also last week arrested a 23-year-old male for vehicle hijacking and robbery.

Twigg says the suspect was arrested in Samora Machel after crashing into a brick wall in his attempt to avoid being apprehended.
