Western Cape overtakes Gauteng as epi-centre of third wave

Health Minister Joe Phaahla says the third wave of the pandemic is still upon South Africa.

There were over 13,000 new Covid-19 cases reported, in the last 24 hours.

Phaahla says the Western Cape has now overtaken Gauteng as the epi-centre of the third wave.

On the vaccine front, he says South Africa has reached the milestone of 8 million vaccines administered, yesterday.

Vaccine supplies have stabilized, and there are over 10 million vaccines in storage.
