Late online applications for the 2024 academic year close at midnight on Thursday (25 May 23:59).

Parents and guardians are urged to enrol their children before deadline. The provincial education department has so far received over 21 600 late applications for next year. This includes 2 006 Grade 1 and 11 388 Grade 8 admissions applications.

As for applications that were received on-time, the department was met with 155 330 for learners before 14 April 2023.

Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier says working to ensure placement for children is a key priority:

“The earlier we know how many learners are seeking placement, and where they are located, the better our planning will be to provide places for all learners,” says Maynier.

A MESSAGE FROM THE WCED:

Our message remains clear: “Don’t wait!” Parents must not delay, and should apply online today at: https://wcedonline.westerncape.gov.za/admissions-202324

Parents who experience technical problems are able to log a query using the “contact us” option at the top of the admissions page, or by emailing service@westerncape.gov.za, and we will assist parents with technical issues to resolve each and every problem as soon as possible.

Parents are reminded that they do not need to drop off their certified hard copies at this stage. They will only need to do so once they have received an offer from a school and accepted the offer as their final choice of school.
