The Springbok match against Italy over the weekend has got tongues wagging after the Bokke deployed several innovations, which have divided rugby commentators yet again.
Among the innovations was a kickoff that was deliberately kicked short to lead to a scrum.
The Boks also twice deployed a move to create a maul in open play from lifting a player, lineout style, which Erasmus admitted had been copied from a Paul Roos “B” team.
“We tried a few things and sometimes those things work and sometimes they don’t, and you have to take it on the chin if they don’t work,” said Erasmus.
“We won’t be able to do them again for a few games as people have seen them now.”
The Paul Roos u19 B team has been getting plenty of praise online for helping inspire Rassie.
