Police have arrested a truck driver after he was filmed over the weekend driving recklessly on the Amajuba pass, 30km north of Newcastle on the road to Volksrust in Mpumulanga.

The driver can be seen taking on blind rises, and clipping a trailer, but he failed to stop.

A motorist had recorded the Ni-Da Group Transport truck, then contacted and notified Charlestown police and the owner of the company, providing them with the vehicle’s registration number.

Captain Christo Paulsen from the Charlestown SAPS says several concerned motorists had notified them of the truck’s dangerous driving on the Majuba Pass.
