Wesgro has jumped on the news that France will block entry to UK tourists, by inviting the Brits to come and holiday in SA’s ‘Riviera’ – Cape Town.
France is tightening its border restrictions in an effort to slow the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.
Covid-19 tests must be taken less than 24 hours before departure, rather than 48 as at present, and those who arrive from the UK must self-isolate for seven days, reduced to two days if they test negative in France. An online registration system will be used to track those arriving and to submit test results.
It comes just days after the UK scrapped its travel red list of countries, which included South Africa.
Dear 🇬🇧, nobody wants to be on the red list 🇫🇷, but don’t worry, it’s just as good here and we’re ready to welcome you with open arms (and plenty of ☀️)
