Beyoncé’s Historic Wins
Beyoncé clinched her first-ever Album of the Year award for “Cowboy Carter,” marking a significant milestone in her illustrious career.
This achievement makes her the fourth Black woman to receive this honour. Additionally, she secured the Best Country Album award and, alongside Miley Cyrus, won Best Country Duo/Group Performance, making her the first Black woman in 50 years to win a country Grammy.
Kendrick Lamar’s Triumphs
Kendrick Lamar had a remarkable night, taking home five awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Not Like Us.” Despite being the subject of a defamation lawsuit, the track garnered significant acclaim.
‘Flute Painter’ Wouter Kellerman’s victory
South African flautist Wouter Kellerman won his third Grammy!
Kellerman won alongside Eru Matsumoto and Chandrika Tandon for their album, Triveni. The musicians won in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category.
Kellerman also won in 2015 with Ricky Kej and in 2023 with Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo Zikode.
Notable Recognitions
Sabrina Carpenter was honoured with the Best Pop Solo Performance award for her hit “Espresso.”
The Beatles received the Best Rock Performance award for their AI-assisted track “Now and Then,” showcasing the timeless appeal of their music.
Best New Artist
Chappell Roan was named Best New Artist, highlighting her emergence as a significant talent in the music industry.
