The Western Cape Head of Health, Dr Keith Cloete says there are hopes that the province’s third covid-19 wave would be less severe than predicted.

Cloete says the prevalence of Covid-19 anti-bodies, under Western Cape residents, shows that a large majority of people have already been exposed to the virus, which could possibly mean that a lot of people have some form of immunity against the virus.

He says preparations are however still being made to prepare the province’s health-care system for a third Covid-19 wave.

He adds that the vaccination of healthcare workers are continuing.
