City firefighters achieve an amazing feat

The City’s JP Smith says he’s very proud of firefighters Jermaine and Renaldo. He said taking part in FULL FIREFIGHTING GEAR entailed that they ran 21 kilometres with, among others, thick bunker gear clothing, helmets, and breathing apparatus oxygen tanks!

To raise awareness and donations for the NGO

🚒  MMC Smith says their participation was to raise awareness and donations for the NGO Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS). He says they do amazing work supporting firefighters. He says the community organisation provides vital support to SANParks and the Table Mountain National Park when there are wildfires to be battled.
Smith added that VWS is in desperate need of a new vehicle to transport volunteers to the mountain during fires. He says their old ones broke down.

The mission of Jermaine and Renaldo is to ask people to support this cause. You can make a huge difference by just donating R21.
🤝 At the same time, the City has asked citizens to help them spread the word. You can share this article with your friends and family and ask them to donate. If you donate, you can also tag the City. The hashtags to use are -> #VWS #VolunteerWildfireServices #JP4Safety #SupportTheCause
