Two suspects are set to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court tomorrow after a police raid at a house in Noordheuwel yesterday led to the confiscation of drugs valued at R1.7 million.

Gauteng Police spokesperson Tintswalo Sibeko says they received information about drugs allegedly being kept at the premises.

“Acting on the information, members of the Gauteng Highway Patrol proceeded to the identified address where they requested permission to conduct a search, which was granted. During the search, police inspected a vehicle parked at the premises and discovered a bag containing drugs with an estimated street value of approximately R900 000.”

Sibeko says one suspect was immediately arrested. He says upon further investigation, more drugs were found.

“Upon further searches inside the house, members discovered a large quantity of drugs in one of the bedrooms. The drugs are estimated to have a street value of about R800 000, leading to the arrest of a second suspect.”
