Tupac receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Legendary rapper and icon, Tupac Shakur will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This comes 26 years following his death.

 

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed that the hip-hop star will be honoured with a ceremony on the popular Hollywood walkway on 7 June 2023.

 

This new addition will be the Walk of Fame’s 2,758th star.

 

Who is Tupac Shakur?

 

Having been born in New York City and then growing up in California, Tupac Shakur is celebrated as a legendary figure of the West Coast and serves as a significant inspiration to artists worldwide.

 

During his enrollment at the Baltimore School for the Arts, Shakur delved into acting, poetry, jazz, and ballet. In the initial stages of his career, he went by the name MC New York before adopting the alias 2Pac while being a part of the rap group Digital Underground.

 

 

After embarking on a solo career, Shakur introduced his first album, 2Pacalypse Now, in 1991. He continued to grace the music scene with three additional albums before his tragic and fatal shooting at the age of 25. Remarkably, all of his albums made their mark on the Billboard 200, with All Eyez on Me and Me Against the World claiming the top spot.
