The South African Football Association (SAFA) issued a statement late on Tuesday.
“We as the South African Football Association would like to convey our sincerest condolences, deepest sympathy and heartfelt sorrow to his family, friends and the club during this difficult time,” SAFA said.
Mtolo will leave a void at Richards Bay F.C
Siphamandla Mtolo was an indispensable asset to the Richards Bay midfield. He played a pivotal role in the team’s triumphant return to the PSL. After spending five years in the second division, the side finally earned a well-deserved spot in South Africa’s top-flight league.
As a key player for coach Vasili Manousakis, the late midfielder consistently delivered impressive performances on the field. In fact, this past Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs was no exception, as Mtolo once again demonstrated his unwavering spirit and determination. Remarkably, this marked his fourth consecutive full 90-minute performance.
