Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula says the National Taxi Lekgotla, planned for the end of October this year, will provide a platform for better discussion and co-operation between National Government and the taxi industry.
He yesterday launched the Taxi Lekgotla Discourse Platform, as a precursor to the Lekgotla, which he says will aim to formalize the country’s taxi industry.
Mbalula says the issue of subsidizing the industry will also be on the Lekgotla’s agenda.

The discussions will also look at models that include making a case for the apex leadership structure to be a Council, whose leaders must not be encumbered on Associations. We have no intention of elevating Association to a position of an apex industry representative body pic.twitter.com/1FiIDSb1Ed
