Tourism operators received R 3-billion in aid during the Covid-19 pandemic

Tourism Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane says several initiatives – such as the Tourism Sector Recovery Plan, the Tourism Equity Fund and the Transformation Fund – were launched over the past year, to help tourism-business weather the Covid-19 storm.

The Minister delivered her Department’s budget speech this week and said operators received around R 3-billion in financial aid from Government.

Kubayi-Ngubane says further initiatives will be launched, in the coming months, to help revive & stimulate the economic recovery of the sector.
