The Women’s Springbok Sevens need your support!

The Springbok Women’s Sevens claimed third place in the first leg of the World Rugby HSBC Sevens Challenger 2025 at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town yesterday. Two of the stars from the South African team, Ayanda Malinga and Shiniqwa Lamprecht, joined us in studio.

“To be honest the support was disappointing. We want the sport to grow and people want us to grow; but they’re not coming out to support us”

To show your support our Springboks at the HSBC Sevens Challenger 2025, get down to Athlone Stadium this weekend! Tickets are available at a steal of R20 here.

The Springbok Sevens side now head into this weekend’s second tournament at the same venue in third place.The top eight placed men’s and women’s teams will progress to the third round  in Krakow in April. The top four ranked men’s and women’s teams at end of third round will qualify for the HSBC SVNS Play Off tournament in Los Angeles in May.
