The Western Cape has reported another 8 Covid-19 deaths over the past 24 hours, with the province’s death toll now rising to 11 673.

The province reported the fourth highest death toll in the country yesterday after the Free State, with 23 deaths, the Northern Cape with 16 and Gauteng with 16 deaths.

According to the Western Cape Department of Health, more than 74 700 of the province’s healthcare workers have already received their Covid-19 injection.

The national Department of Health says that more than 414-thousand medical workers had, to date, been vaccinated against the virus.
