The Western Cape has finally surpassed the 100-thousand Covid-19 vaccination mark.

By yesterday afternoon, at 17:00, a total of 102 394 Western Cape residents had already been vaccinated against the virus.

Of these, 29 241 people – including health care workers and pensioners – have been vaccinated since Monday last week (when phase 2 of the vaccination strategy kicked off).

Total vaccinations = Phase 1a (Sisonke trial): 93 153 + Phase 1b/Phase: 2 9241.
