The Western Cape has achieved an 81.2% pass rate, which is a 1.3% increase, from the 2020 pass rate.

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says the Free State scored the highest pass rate, with 85.7%, followed by Gauteng with 82,8%. The Western Cape Education MEC has at the same time, congratulated the provincial class of 2021, for that slight improvement. The 81.2% pass rate is the third highest in the country. MEC Debbie Schafer says the province also boasts with the highest percentage of bachelor passes, among other achievements.
