More than a million learners have started the 2022 school year yesterday. This includes about 105 000 Grade 1s and 97 000 Grade 8s. MEC Debbie Schafer says they are again increasing capacity yet again. Around 400 Grade 1’s and over 2 000 Grade 8’s are yet to be placed, due to late applications.
