The Western Cape Department Health says it has made recommendations to its national counterpart, to quarantine travellers to South Africa, who arrive from high-risk areas.

Head of Health Dr. Keith Cloete says they are concerned about international travel, especially in the light of the new coronavirus variant in India. Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa says in the coming days, announcements will be made regarding concerns over India, and the spread of the virus there. At the same time, the president has also assured South Africans that vaccines are on the way.
