The University of Cape Town says the Student Representative Council has indicated that it intends to continue with protests today, despite all their demands having been met.

Students started their protests yesterday, claiming that UCT had failed to register all students, before the start of the academic year on Monday. In a statement Vice-Chancellor Mamokgethi Phakeng says the university will not be closing and the start of the academic year will not be suspended.
