The South African Post Office says it will collapse if it has to pay more than R600 million in overdue medical aid contributions in terms of a court order.

Meanwhile, the parties reached an agreement on the overdue contributions at the eleventh hour, yesterday. At the same time, the Post Office, in an answering affidavit in the court case filed against it, by Solidarity, said it’s insolvent and owes billions to its creditors. It has asked the government for a bailout of over R8-billion.
