The Minister of Health Dr Joe Phaahla says the covid-19 digital vaccination certificate is ready for South Africans to download and use.

It was developed in partnership with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, which falls under the ministry of science and innovation. Phaahla says there will be a lot of improvements going forward especially on the safety and security of the certificate.

Dr Phaahla says the certificate will be a tool for vaccinated people to access many opportunities which various service providers will be made available. Amongst others he expects sports and recreation to open up more for vaccinated people. Shops to provide discounts and others to give prizes for those who get vaccinated.
