The humanitarian organization, Gift of the Givers has requested the public to cease all contributions in cash and kind, with regards to the Table Mountain fire. This as there was a surge in contributions received yesterday and after assessing resources, they are satisfied that what they have received will be sufficient to fulfill their commitment to the UCT Council to provide 4 000 students with meals 3 times daily over 6-7 days (from Sunday). The GotG has also expressed their heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated.
