NO MORE LONG QUEUES AT THE GATE FOR THE KILLARNEY MOTOR SHOW!
The entry and parking logistics for the 2024 Killarney Motor Show, powered by the City of Cape Town in association with Smile 90.4FM, have been completely redesigned to obviate the long queues that occurred at the gates during the previous two editions of this, the biggest motor show in the Western Cape.
We have followed the ticket control system that was successfully used at Killarney’s World Rallycross events.
You’ll drive straight in without stopping at the gate and proceed to one of the marked-out and signposted parking areas around the perimeter of the facility, park your car with the aid of the parking marshals and then walk a few metres to the nearest ticket sales point. There you’ll either join the express queue to have your pre-purchased ticket scanned, or join another queue to purchase your ticket – and then walk straight into the show.
Simple as that!
The layout of the parking areas is shown on this map of Killarney International Raceway with detail images of the access gates.
We have extended and improved on-site parking to accommodate an unprecedented 2800 cars, with a further 150 parking bays available at the riding school adjacent to the facility and hundreds more bays available at Bayside Centre, just a short ride away on the free MyCiti shuttle bus – which we recommend as the most stress-free way of attending the Show.
GATE 5, on the south side of the facility opposite the entrance to the municipal dump, will be the main entry gate for the public. Your nearest ticket sales point to this parking area will be ‘Ticket Sales 4’ at the back of the V8 Masters garages.
Gate 5 will also be the entrance to the VIP parking behind the Joubert Pits. Once again, VIP’s will not stop at the gate but will proceed directly to the VIP parking.
GATE 4 on Sati Road will be an exit gate for the public and an Uber/Bolt drop-off point.
GATE 3, also on Sati Road, will open to the public as a secondary access gate at 9:30am. Your nearest ticket sales point to this parking area will be ‘Ticket Sales 3’ at the drag strip catch netting next to the Bull Bar pub.
For people parking in P7 and P8 on the west side of the facility, there will be an additional Ticket Sales point on the outside of Castrol Corner.
Gate 3 will also be the entrance to the disabled parking area; turn right onto the service road and proceed past the bomas to the dedicated Disabled Parking area on the left.
GATE 2 on Potsdam Road will be a pedestrian walk-in gate as well as a vehicle exit gate. Your nearest ticket sales point to this gate will be ‘Ticket Sales 2’ at the Monster Arch, next to the King Tony subway. Please note that the subway will be closed for the duration of the show.
GATE 1
on Potsdam Road will not be accessible to the public.
As a reminder, pre-purchased tickets from Webtickets are R110 for adults, R40 for under-16s and free for under-12s. Tickets at the gate (cash or card) are R150 for adults, R50 for under-16s and free for under-12s. And of course, WPMC members get in free by showing their membership book at the ticket sales point.
