The department of health says 756 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in the country, over the latest 24-hour monitoring period, taking the cumulative number of cases to 1.553-million. At the same time, 79 more Covid-19 related deaths were confirmed, taking the death toll to 53 111 deaths. Under the Sisonke Protocol more than 278 000 health workers have been vaccinated.
