The department of health says 2 585 new coronavirus cases have been reported in the country during the latest 24-hour monitoring period.

Another 27 people have died, taking the death toll to 55 210. Dr Zweli Mkhize says so far, more than 478 000 health workers have been vaccinated, according to the Sisonke vaccination program.
