The City’s Transport Directorate says the temporary fences it had installed at various public transport interchanges, has boosted efforts to help curb the spread of covid-19 among commuters. May-co Member for Transport, Felicity Purchase, says the fencing initiative provides a form of access control at the facilities, and allows for commuters to be screened for the virus, before they enter facilities. To date, the fences have been installed at public-transport facilities in Nomzamo, Somerset West, Mfuleni, Nyanga Central, Nyanga Junction, Parow and Bellville.
