The chairperson of the South African Medical Association and also a member of the Covid-19 Ministerial Committee, Dr Angelique Coetzee, says if the current trend of infections continues, South Africa will officially reach the third wave of infections within the next 10 days.

She says the country is now already unofficially in the third wave. At the same time, the chairperson of the South African Medical Research Council, Prof. Jeffrey Mphahlele says he expects the third wave to be officially here in two to three weeks’ time.
