On Saturday 29 January the Cape Town Met welcomes back spectators to the racetrack and the fashion runway.

This is the first time in two years that the Met will have spectators return to Kenilworth Racetrack for what is known as Africa’s Richest Race Day. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, only fully vaccinated guests will be allowed to attend.

This year’s theme is Glam Garden and organisers say with hospitality returning the scene is set for a day of top-class horse racing, glamour, and entertainment.

This year’s best-dressed winners will each be treated to a R 5000 voucher for a “dose of therapy” at Ruff Tung’s Therapy Boutique.

The entertainment is headlined by Zakes Bantwini, and Good Luck, Dean Fuel and Desiree will ensure the party keeps going.

The day will comprise 12 carded races, 5 graded races, and feature 6 races. Racing kicks off at 12:00.

Admission options start at R 40 per person, with general admission including grandstand access costing R 100 per person. Access to exclusive areas with hospitality starts at R 1000 for two people. View the full range of ticket options at webtickets
