The musical review, Bar of Memories and Dreams will be performed tonight at the Barnyard Theatre in Tygervalley Centre. Come along for a journey through time with Sam the Barman and a colourful cast of characters brought to life by country rock fusion band Then & Now and the Cape Town Show Dancers.

“All Aboard the Midnight train to Reno!” cries the conductor, and you will be whisked through time and space to the Bar of Memories and Dreams where you will be greeted by Sam the Barman.

In the bar you will meet gamblers, thieves, lovers and ghosts of the past, brought to life by Graham and Tori, the father and daughter-led country-rock fusion band, Then & Now. The show features internationally acclaimed musicians, Marc Fraser, Terrence Welch, Mark Marais and Michelle Pearce using 9 different instruments to play vibrant songs and harmonies written by the Fraser Ferreira trio.

From popular jazz to Tex Mex, western rock to classic blues, this 6-piece original band supplies the beats rhythms and melodies for the Cape Town Show Dancers troupe to set the stage alight with interpretation of the stories you will hear of people who have sat at the Bar of Memories and Dreams over the past 3 centuries.

If you want something that will keep your eyes riveted to the stage for a hundred minutes of drama, dance and music, catch the old Midnight Train to Reno from the Barnyard Theatre, meet Sam the Barman and join the ride through time and space.

Doors open at 6 pm with the show to start at 8 pm. Join in the fun of a hundred minutes of captivating drama, dance and music!
