Ten people shot during attack on taxi at Nyanga taxi rank

Ten people have been shot during an attack on a minibus taxi at the Nyanga taxi rank on Wednesday morning.

 

According to police reports, several unidentified suspects randomly shot at a taxi, injuring several people. Police Captain F.C. van Wyk says Nyanga police members were dispatched to the shooting incident immediately.

 

According to Van Wyk, there are currently ten people shot in total of which two females were declared deceased on the scene due to injuries sustained.

 

Seven other females and one male were reportedly treated for gunshot wounds by the emergency services and taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

 

“Crime scene experts are currently at a crime scene in Nyanga Taxi rank combing the area for clues following a shooting incident earlier this morning (Wednesday, 2025-11-12) at about 10:17.”

 

According to police, the motive for the shooting is still under investigation.

 

Nyanga police registered two counts of murder and eight attempted murders for investigation.
