TBCSA expects visitor numbers to grow after the scrapping of the PCR-test requirement for fully vaccinated travelers

The Tourism Business Council of SA (TBCSA) says it expects visitor numbers to the country to grow significantly with the scrapping of the PCR-test requirement for fully vaccinated travelers.

The council says it has been in conversation with Government for months now to make this much-needed adjustment to its pandemic regulations.

CEO Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa spoke to ENCA and says most neighbouring countries, such as Namibia and Kenya have done away with this rule long before South Africa.

He says this has allowed these countries’ tourism sectors to start recovering in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
