Stellenbosch University student arrested for allegedly raping a fellow student

A Stellenbosch University student has been arrested for allegedly raping another student on campus.

The alleged perpetrator was arrested by the SAPS yesterday morning after the victim opened a case of rape.

The Management of Stellenbosch University says it is deeply distressed to learn of the alleged incident on campus.

The Rector and management is taking immediate action to support the victim.

The alleged perpetrator has been suspended from his residence, pending further internal and criminal investigation by law enforcement authorities.
