Spar, P&P, Woolworths and Shoprite reopening shops in Gauteng & KZN

All four of the country’s major grocery groups have started reopening their stores in KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Gauteng after last week’s violent protests and looting.

Pick n Pay and Shoprite says trucks are on their way to fill store shelves in those provinces.

Woolworths and Spar have also indicated that they are starting to reopen their stores.

Woolworths has confirmed that nine stores in KwaZulu-Natal and two in Gauteng have been looted and severely damaged.

A total of 184 stores in the Spar group were damaged.
