The Delft community was left reeling on Sunday morning following a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of two men and left a young boy injured.

The incident occurred in Auber Street, where two adult males were sitting and drinking when unidentified gunmen reportedly approached and opened fire.

Police spokesperson FC Van Wyk says a 7-year-old boy, who was in the street at the time, was struck by a stray bullet.

“The injured victim was in the street and got hit by a stray bullet. He was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The victims were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.”
