Grootbos has announced that South Africa’s stunning floral exhibit, which triumphed at the Chelsea Flower Show with three prestigious awards, is coming to Stanford from September.
Just as a World Cup victory lifts the nation’s spirits, South Africa’s Gold Medal win at the Chelsea Flower Show has filled us with pride and joy.
Our nation’s beautiful proteas, showcased in an exquisite design by Leon Kluge, garnered a gold medal, the Best in the Pavilion and Best New Design awards.

Grootbos, in collaboration with Leon Kluge, decided it was time for this breathtaking display to come home for all South Africans to experience.
An exact full-sized replica of the award-winning design will be built for visitors to admire on their home turf.
Mayor Annelie Rabie is the patron of this home-grown exhibit called Chelsea Flowers in Stanford.

Chelsea Flowers in Stanford will open to the public between 21 September – 6 October 2024.
120 illustrations and vignettes from the Grootbos Florilegium, a private collection of fynbos botanical artworks, will also be on display in the venue along with Grootbos Florilegium books.
Following South Africa’s win at Chelsea, local Grootbos Florilegium artist, Daleen Roodt, won a Gold Medal, Best Botanical Artwork and the People’s Choice Award at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Botanical Art and Photography Show held in the Saatchi Gallery in June.
Daleen‘s winning artworks will also be a part of the display in Stanford.
Chelsea Flowers in Stanford is a celebratory event that brings the exhilaration and glamour of the Chelsea Flower Show to home soil.
