The Department of Health says the 40-thousand doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, received from Johnson & Johnson over the weekend, have already been distributed to vaccination-centers across the country.
Departmental spokesperson, Dr. Lwazi Manzi says a further two vaccine-consignments are set to arrive this week, which would further boost the roll-out of the vaccine among South African healthcare workers.
She says the pharmaceutical company will now deliver around 80-thousand doses of the vaccine, every 2 weeks.
Close to 170-thousand healthcare workers have, to date, been vaccinated against Covid-19.
