RWC7s Day 2, Cape Towns Best Dressed

Published on

Day two of the Rugby World Cup Sevens (RWC7s) has been nothing short of amazing. Cape Town delivered exactly what was expected as hosts – big gees and spectacular rugby, despite the disappointing end to the day.

Sevens would be nothing without that gees, and for what South Africa lacks in electricity, they make up for in vibes.

The shortest version of the game of rugby always lures the party animals. These animals were easy to spot around the DHL stadium. They dress in the flashiest of outfits. Outfits that signify one very important thing; “I’m ready for a proper jol“.

This Cape Town crowd has earned its respect. It has been an extremely long day of RWC7s action. And through all the cheering, dancing and drinking, they’ve managed to keep their butts in the seats. From the break of dawn, through to the moonlight hours.

So, after spending the day in the eye of this party storm, here are some of our favourite partytjie pakkies.

Showing gees usually means showing skin. Doing so, with just a thin layer of green body paint, on a fourteen-degree Cape Town evening deserves respect. This is loyalty and support to the max!

Talk about showing skin…

What suits a man better than a nice big snor? A nice big gold chain-linked chain, and a tiny Faf de Klerk SA flag print Speedo. Respect to a legend.

Who Needs A Mattress?

Seeing this iconic yellow, orange and brown print will conjure up fuzzy, warm nostalgic memories. If you grew up in SA, chances are you spent a night or two on one of these mattresses. And gauging on how things ended up going for the Blitzboks, there might be a fan or two that might end up needing one of these bad boys.

A Slap In The Face?

The favourite outfit of the day has to be the Nic White babies. There’s not much to say about this, other than it gave us a good chuckle.
