Bon Jovi’s first hit was recorded by Jon Bon Jovi and a group of studio musicians, including E Street Band keyboardist Roy Bittan, because Bon Jovi had not yet put his own band together.
Tina Turner
Tina Turner’s birth name was Anna Mae Bullock. In 1960 she given the moniker “Tina Turner” by her partner Ike Turner. Ike reportedly had the name trademarked so that another singer could perform under the same name if Bullock left the band.
Bryan Adams
In 2008 Bryan Adams told Rolling Sone magazine that the song Summer of ’69 was originally meant to be called Best Days of My Life. But then, Adams ad-libbed that little “me and my baby” bit, and it stuck. “I’d done that as a joke, really,” he told Rolling Stone. “And then we thought it was catchy.”

Goo Goo dolls
The original name for the Goo Goo Dolls was The Sex Maggots. They changed it when a promoter refused to book them until they got rid of it. They got the name “Goo Goo Dolls” from an ad in True Detective magazine. Of the band’s name, Johnny Rezenik said, “We had a gig that night and needed a name. It’s the best we came up with, and for some reason it stuck. If I had five more minutes, I definitely would have picked a better name.”
