Republicans come to Trump’s defence amid FBI residence raid

Donald Trump’s Republican Party has come to his defence after FBI agents raided his residence in Florida. Anger has been expressed by the far-right, with congress leaders claiming that the raid on Monday night had been pollitcally motivated. The former US President faces several investigations, of which one is the January 6 attack on the Capitol, by his supporters. Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre has told reporters that current President, Joe Biden was not given advanced notice of the FBI’s plans.
