Registration for Phase 2 of the Covid-19 vaccine roll-out opens today

Notice from the Western Cape Department of Health:

Registration for phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out opens today on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS). People older than 60 years will be vaccinated first and are asked to register as soon as possible. Receiving the COVID-19 vaccination will help to protect you from severe COVID-19 symptoms.

You have to be registered to be vaccinated. You will need your Identification Document, passport, or asylum seeker/refugee number to register and will have to bring it with you to the vaccination site. If you belong to a medical aid, please bring your card with you to the vaccination site.

To register:

  • Go to the EVDS portal to register: https://vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za/#/
  • Follow the steps on the portal and complete your details.
  • You will receive a SMS to confirm your registration
  • When it is your turn to be vaccinated, you will receive a SMS informing you when and where you will be vaccinated.

It is important to use your correct address and cellphone number so that you can be referred to your closest vaccination site and receive your vaccination information.

Provision will be made for people in old age homes and people who do not own devices to register. Details will be confirmed at a local level.
