President Cyril Ramaphosa says he’s confident the tourism sector will bounce back after Covid-19.

Ramaphosa was speaking last night at the launch of government’s R1.2bn Tourism Equity Fund.

The Fund is aimed at improving the participation of black entrepreneurs in the tourism sector, with funding that will be provided to black tourism players over the next three years to boost their businesses.

The fund will provide either grants or debt funding for companies owned by especially black women and disabled entrepreneurs. Ramaphosa says tourism has the potential to transform the economy.
