Ramaphosa: G20-countries must work towards creating “equal opportunities for all”

Published on

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the covid-19 pandemic has set back global efforts to eradicate poverty, and to narrow in-equality.

He participated in the G20 Leaders’ Summit this past weekend, and said that the pandemic will have major, long-term economic and social effects on all countries across the globe.

He says there should, in a post-covid-19 World, be greater focus on creating a more just, equal society.

He also says that South Africa’s new Integrated Resource Plan, will help boost the country’s efforts to build a more sustainable, future economy.

Ramaphosa says that more focus should be placed on integrating renewable energies into African countries’ energy-mix, to help them better prepare for the future.

He also called for more funding to be channeled to African countries, to help create these greener and more resilient economies
