President Cyril Ramaphosa says if companies make Covid-19 vaccinations mandatory for their employees, the mandate should be based on respect, human rights and the type of business the employer operates.

He says while the government will not force anyone to be vaccinated against Covid-19 it is a delicate balance between the rights of employees and the responsibility of employers to protect the health of their workers.

Ramaphosa says vaccination is a personal choice to protect yourself, but it’s also about protecting your family, friends and colleagues.
