It’s tough to call a winner of the morning session on Day 2 of the series decider between the Proteas and India. While India got off to a perfect start, the South African have just been chipping away at the deficit.

Though they already lost both opening batters, and inevitably night-watchman Keshav Maharaj, Keegan Petersen and Rassie van der Dussen have started building a solid partnership (55).

Petersen has lady luck on his side, with a couple edged deliveries just dropping short of the fielders in the slip cordon. Rassie van der Dussen has meanwhile been solid and looks like he can fill the role Virat Kohli played with the bat for India yesterday.

At the Lunchbreak, South Africa are 100 – 3 (35) still trailing by 123-runs.

Van der Dussen – 17* (42)

Petersen – 40* (86)

Jasprit Bumrah – 2/16 (11)
